Ten Ways to Make Your Children Giggle

4 Sep

Yesterday I was reminded of the episode of Friends when Rachel sang “Baby Got Back” to her little girl to make her giggle. Since I cannot stand that song I figured I needed some new ways to get the giggles going! Why? Because I love to hear them laugh.

1. Sing to them songs they know (not Baby Got Back) and change a word or 2 to a silly word. For example instead of singing “Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes” you could sing Head and Shoulders Ears and Nose” or ” Row Row Row Your Boat gently across the street” Laughing while doing it creates an environment for laughter and will get the giggles started and the creativity flowing as they change words too.

2. Making silly faces (fish faces).

3. Pretend using any object as a microphone and start singing and dancing to the radio (once again not Baby Got Back)

4. Tell Jokes .. kids love making up there own knock knock jokes! (Find a great riddle on Table Talk provided by 24/7 Moms daily)

5. Tickles and lots of them!

6. Play peek – a – Boo

7. Make funny voices

8. Staring Contests

9. Watch a Funny Movie.

10. Your Turn: How do you make your children giggle?

Keep giggles in the home by being open-minded, playful and willing to laugh yourself.

Don’t know about humans, but puppies laugh when I:
    1. Pretend I’m a kitty.
    2. Make a face like a human.
    3. Push a ball around the floor with my nose.
    4. Bark at the TV when the news comes on.
    and
    5. Tell “Dumb Doberman” jokes.
