Genesis 17 & Mom’s Devo

15 Jan

Let me start by saying to my feed subscribers that if you received a message earlier with the title New Phone, it was because I completed a blog in full at the T-Mobile store today when shopping for the perfect phone. I found one, a G1. Very exciting to have a new phone to play with, however very clever and efficient to have one that I can produce blogs on as well as submit articles through examiner.com 🙂

Okay.. Today we continue in the Bible at Genesis 17

Abram is named Abraham and Sarai is now Sarah. They are now in a new covenant with God and the sign of this for Abraham and his descendants is circumcision. This is the physical sign of their faith and their covenant with God.

Nowadays we have a new covenant with Jesus and a new physical sign of our faith. Baptism, this public affirmation in front of our church family is a sign of faith and our public promise to Christ.

God meant for us to be witnesses of Jesus Christ through the natural outcome of living for him. What other ways may we show our faith (shine our light) to others?

* demonstrate the very things you believe by staying positive and having a good
attitude even in the middle of a crisis in your own life (When the people around
you see the peace in your life, especially when it seems like you’re surrounded
by storms, you can bet they’ll want to know how to get what you got!)

* Treat people with respect and dignity, no matter the circumstances

* Find ways to be a blessing to others

* Don’t compromise your beliefs

* ability to forgive quickly is a very powerful way to show how
Christianity really works

Friday: Moms Devotional Bible An Unloved Wife

Genesis 29:31-35

Whether you husband is married to you and to his work, his kids, his car & (you fill in the blank) You need to remember that God is the answer to what you need. If you feel that your husband does not devote enough time to you and or your family. Pray about it, ask God for His love, and He will give you the desires of your heart. This does not mean that your husband will do what you want, but you will be satisfied. Your husband has needs too, he needs to provide for his family he has wants and desires in his hobbies, etc.. So when you take it to God, everyone wins!! God knows our hearts and desires. As Elisa reminds me that God calls us to look to Him for the ultimate meeting of our needs.

Additional Scripture Readings:

Psalm 37:3-4 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Song of Songs 2:1-6

Blessings to you and yours until tomorrow
