Genesis 16 & Moms Devotional Bible

12 Jan
Sarai a barren woman is tired of waiting on the Lord for what He as promise her husband Abram. Sarai chooses to take these matters in her own hands, I will stop right there! IF GOD PROMISES YOU SOMETHING, Wait for what He has promised you! There is no way that doing something your way is going to accomplish anything more great that what the Lord will do. If you think you can and you have, you did not learn the lesson God had for you and/or there may be disaster ahead. The promise God made you has been broken on your end. I don’t want to break any promises with God.

Just as one of my favorite songs says “Strength will rise when we wait upon the Lord”. Which in this case if I wait for the Lord, learn His lesson, and gain His promise. My strength and my faith is risen for His next promise which He know I will keep 🙂

Laughing Matters

Passage Genesis 21:1-7

Elisa Morgan reminds us to laugh just as Sarah. Sarah laughs at the pain and the work of having a child when she finds she is with child. Sarah laughs with God out of pure joy when she held Issac. Good times and the bad times we need to laugh. The name Issac means “he laughs”. (I gave my son Mason the middle name Issac for this reason, that in bad times we must laugh)

The weight of the world can be so heavy. These moments are times when we need to reach to God for joy. For with joy we can lighten the situation and laugh!

Psalm 126:2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations,”The LORD has done great things for them.”

Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

Just like the new tag line for my blog today:

a busy stay at home mom of 5 (something that can lead to stress)
finding joy
(reaching to God to lighten the situation so that I can ‘giggle’)

Blessings and Laughter to you & yours until tomorrow
