Passage: Genesis 3
Jeanne writes that we have inherited Eve’s fallen nature, but we also have been granted God’s presence and our own capability to decide what we will do with what we have.
Eve’s failure to obey did not just give me a negative consequence in the fall of man. Her fall out also gave me the opportunity to make mistakes, the opportunity to choose, and the opportunity to do the right thing. For the first time I have been able to see Eve’s wrong doing with a positive note. Without this ability I would never have the opportunities to come to the Lord with my needs and desires. I would not have a reason to lean on Him and to trust Him will all that is inside of me. Without these opportunities I could not love Him like I do today.
